Metal degreasing and descaling cleaning agents are primarily composed of surfactants, alkaline auxiliaries, chelating agents, corrosion inhibitors, solvents, and other additives. Through synergistic physicochemical action, they rapidly remove oil contaminants, oxide scale, rust, and metal powders.
Core components
Surfactants: A nonionic–anionic blend that reduces surface tension, enabling emulsification, dispersion, and solubilization of oily soils.
Alkaline additives—such as sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, and silicates—saponify animal and vegetable oils and fats, thereby enhancing cleaning performance.
Chelating agents—such as EDTA, sodium gluconate, and phosphates—complex calcium and magnesium ions as well as other metal ions in water, thereby preventing the redeposition of scale.
Corrosion inhibitors—such as silicates, amines, and organic heterocyclic compounds—protect base materials like steel, aluminum, and zinc from corrosion.
Solvents and detergent aids: organic solvents and penetrants that rapidly penetrate and strip away stubborn heavy oil and carbonized residues.
The cleaning mechanism leverages multiple actions: saponification, emulsification, dispersion, penetration, and chelation. Alkaline components saponify oils, while surfactants emulsify and disperse non-saponifiable mineral oils; penetrants infiltrate the interface between oil contaminants and the substrate, reducing adhesion; and chelating agents sequester metal and hardness ions, preventing re‑rusting and graying. Under spray, immersion, and ultrasonic treatment, dirt is rapidly detached and suspended in the cleaning solution, achieving integrated removal of oil, dust, and rust.
The formulation can be tailored to substrates such as steel, aluminum, zinc, and copper, delivering efficient cleaning without damaging the material.
